今回はLANYのアルバム「Malibu Nights」より「Thru These Tears」の歌詞を和訳してみました。
アルバムは2018年10月5日リリース。

「”I Don’t Wanna Love You Anymore(アルバムの4曲目)”を書き終えた後、ベンチュラ大通り（ロサンゼルスの有名な通り）に一人で夕飯を食べに行ったんだ。それからマリブの自宅に帰ろうと車を走らせていたんだけど、途中で車を止めないといけなくなったんだ――涙があふれて前が見えなくなって（当時は何やら辛い事があったそう）。車を止めてから10分くらい泣き止むのに時間がかかって。それからこう思ったんだ、僕は絶対大丈夫だって、今は涙で「何も」見えないだけなんだって(歌詞に出てくる”But right now I can’t see nothing through these tears”)。その瞬間、そうだ、これを歌にしようってひらめいたんだ。」
